Chinese nuclear operator CGN Power Co said on 30 September it expected Fangchenggang unit 2 to begin commercial operation on 1 October. In an announcement to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the company said it expected the CPR-1000 pressurized water reactor to complete all commissioning work and will be qualified for commercial operation. Fangchenggang 2 reached first criticality in June and was connected to the grid in July.
Eversheds has advised a consortium of Chinese banks, led by China Development Bank Corporation, on "key financial aspects" of the £16 billion Hinkley Point C nuclear new build project, it said on 30 September. The Eversheds team provided advice on the initial £4 billion credit facilities, with a further £4 billion of facilities to follow. Europe's largest infrastructure project, the new plant is scheduled for completion in 2023. |
